01

La Belle et la Bete

The concept for this system was to create something truly flexible to adapt to the devised process that the director and playwright Annie Louie is known for. This is system was truly a sonic playground allowing for sound to move and source almost anywhere in the Experimental Media Performance Lab.

02

Gloria

Gloria served as my first production at UC Irvine and my first time designing in an "alley" configuration. I wanted the system to feel claustrophobic which was supported by scenic designer Gretchen Ugalde. This production also featured a projected fictional movie trailer in it's finale, which utilized a separate sound system to emulate and more cinematic layout.

03

Noises Off

This system was a labor of love as my thesis production at UC Irvine. One of the first conversations I had with director Eli Simon was regarding vocal support. We felt that this show didn't warrant body mics, I elected to place area microphones across the stage to provide a subtle reinforcement to all the chaos on stage. We also employed some spatialization using Timax PanLab Console to provide a clear sonic image of the reinforcement.
